Thank Your Cleaner Day is coming up next week, taking place on Wednesday 18 October 2017.

Thank Your Cleaner Day is a special day once a year dedicated to cleaners to show they are valued and appreciated for keeping our environments clean and hygienic every day for all of us. Countries including Canada, US, UK, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Australia set to recognise event for first time this year. 

Building Service Contractors of New Zealand (BSCNZ) CEO Lillian Small created Thank Your Cleaner Day in 2015, in what has become an annual event dedicated to cleaners to show they are valued and appreciated.

Speaking at the recent World Federation Building Services Congress (WFBSC) in Berlin, Small said Thank Your Cleaner Day is a simple, yet powerful concept.

“Thank Your Cleaner Day is one of those campaigns that is so simple but when you really dive into the depths of it, it is quite powerful.”

Cleaning is one of the most important industries in the world, yet most of the people undertaking this work remain invisible. Every day, tens of thousands of cleaning staff are onsite to ensure premises are ready to go for the next business day. Cleaners work day, night and weekends to keep working and living environments clean, safe and hygienic, often under the radar of normal working hours.
