BSCNZ to host training roadshow

National safety training roadshow will be targeted at cleaning contractors and supervisors.

The Building Service Contractors of New Zealand (BSCNZ) will host a national training roadshow next year targeted at cleaning contractors and supervisors.

Sarah McBride CEO of BSCNZ said the theme of the roadshow, ‘Keeping Safe at Work’ is the result of first-hand insights from cleaning supervisors following research undertaken by the association.

“The BSCNZ brought cleaning supervisors together to get some industry feedback and insights on the issues they, and their workforce, currently face and the theme of safety was very strong among all the respondents,” McBride said.

As part of the roadshow booths will be set up to conduct interactive training sessions on a range of topics including; hand washing hygiene, microfibre, how to stay around electrical gear/machinery, what to do in a natural disaster and how to stay safe when working alone.

Other sessions will also include career planning, workplace bullying, employee rights, how to be financially safe and future innovations set to change the cleaning industry.

BSCNZ will also host a two-day educational conference in September, 2019. McBride said the aim of the conference is to create an industry event that will motivate and assist management.

The BSCNZ roadshow is scheduled to be held in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Dunedin and Christchurch throughout June and July 2019 and will be open to BSCNZ members and non-members.

More information about both events will be released from early 2019 on the BSCNZ website http://www.bsc.org.nz/
