New Zealand-owned and operated cleaning chemicals manufacturer, Chemical Solutions, has celebrated 30 years of operation in the cleaning and hygiene industry.
Started by founding chemist Peter Vaughan in 1992, Chemical Solutions develops and manufactures a wide variety of cleaning and hygiene products, covering contract manufacturing and contract packing.
Chemical Solutions’ largest commercial cleaning chemical brand, Kemsol, has been in operation for more than 20 years and is sold throughout NZ and the Pacific Islands. Other brands include Kemsol Green, Chemex, Virulabs, AllChem, Naturemade, and Bio-Fresh Professional.
To mark the anniversary, the company will host celebrates in-person and online, looking back over the past three decades of operations.
According to the company, highlights since first starting include developing from a small three-person business into one of the largest privately-owned chemical businesses in the sector, outgrowing three factories over the years, and more recently, opening the Christchurch Distribution Centre to enable the company to better serve South Island customers.
Terry Morris, director of Chemical Solutions and one of the company’s founding members, said the key to the Chemical Solutions’ success has been the company’s people.
“We have a talented team who all play a critical part in giving our customers great products when they need them. We pride ourselves on doing the simple things right. It does not matter who the customer is, or how big they are, they all get personal service and are genuinely appreciated for using our products,” said Morris.
“Our goal has never been to the biggest, it has always been to be the best we can be. The growth has come from always keeping that philosophy in our hearts and minds. A special thank you to everyone who has shared this journey – whether that has been a big or small part. We know we could not have done it without you.”
Morris also paid a tribute to Vaughan, who passed away in 2000.
“Way before being ‘green’ was a trend, Peter had a passion for developing cleaning compounds from natural sources such as sugar. He was way ahead of his time. And he would have been immensely proud of how the company has grown and the ongoing development of environmentally responsible products.”
