Innovation is needed more than ever by the cleaning industry in this Covid-affected world, so when the NXP Innovation Day 2022 expo was announced for 8 July 8th in Auckland, it attracted plenty of attention from local building services and facilities management professionals.

Showcasing timesaving products and exclusive access to major international brands, this free industry expo also gave New Zealand cleaning specialists the opportunity to access training, local servicing, and other crucial industry support.

Time Saving Technology

While Innovation Day 2022 showcased an exciting array of cleaning products, machines, and hardware, it was a much less visible kind of innovation which proved to be one of the day’s most popular features. Many people associate the ‘Internet of Things’ with Alexa, but the ability to leverage always-online sensors has all kinds of promising applications for the cleaning and services industries.

Asset tagging, using small label-like sensors, allows businesses to monitor high value machinery remotely, ensuring that the location of valuable assets can be checked at any time. Companies are also using the Internet of Things to monitor how full rubbish bins are, avoiding the more labour intensive solution of having a person periodically check bin levels.

These sensors can even be used to power an early warning detection system, constantly monitoring for potential issues. Depending on business requirements, this technology can be used to check for water leaks, CO2 concentration, gas levels, temperature, and more. The Internet of Things can also help with crowd management, analysing camera feeds to track the number of people entering a venue.

When it comes to how this technology is implemented, no two businesses have exactly the same needs: NXP’s Technology specialists will work alongside your internal experts to craft a bespoke solution. Local Servicing

Technology wasn’t the only area where NXP experts highlighted industry-specific solutions. As part of the wraparound support on offer at the event, NXP showcased their machinery servicing offer: for all cleaning machinery supplied by NXP, customers are guaranteed access to New Zealand based servicing solutions through NXP division The Service Company. The long standing, experienced and responsive support available from the team based across the country ensures that Kiwi cleaning businesses will get the most out of their hardworking, essential tools.

On-site Training

Alongside the day’s product demonstrations and manufacturer chats, was the offer of ongoing training and support from NXP’s category specialists. From guidance in the use of new products to booking on-site machinery training, attendees discovered that a comprehensive range of training solutions are at their fingertips.

With so many cleaning specialists in attendance and some of the world’s biggest BSC brands making an appearance, NXP Innovation Day 2022 was a unique opportunity for New Zealand’s cleaning businesses to access revolutionary products, and to discover the comprehensive support available locally.
