Asaleo Care appoints CFO

Asaleo Care names new CFO following $180 million sale of Australian consumer tissue business.

Asaleo Care has appointed Campbell Richards as its new chief financial officer, effective 29 April.

Richards will be responsible for leading the company’s finance and investor relations functions. He will be a member of the Asaleo Care executive leadership team and report to Sid Takla, CEO and managing director.

Richards has more than 30 years of financial management experience in national and multi-national ASX-listed companies with extensive experience in treasury, corporate, commercial and operational finance and mergers and acquisitions, along with deep knowledge of industrial manufacturing and the healthcare and FMCG sectors.

Most recently, Richards was CFO and company secretary for MaxiTRANS Industries, Prior to this, he held senior financial positions with Mondelez, Mayne Group and Mayne Pharma based in Australia and the UK.

Takla said Richards will play a key role as the company continue to drive its sales and revenue growth and profitability.

“Campbell’s strong leadership and finance experience in the healthcare and FMCG sectors are an excellent fit with Asaleo Care and he will further add to the bench strength of our executive leadership team. It’s an exciting time to join the company, following our recent divestment and focus on our core businesses in personal care and business-to-business,” Tikla said.

Last week Asaleo Care completed the $180 million sale of its Australian consumer tissue business to Solaris Paper. The sale includes Sorbent toilet and facial tissue, Handee Ultra paper towel, and Deeko serviettes and disposable tableware.

The company has retained its Australasian personal care and B2B operations, as well as the consumer tissue business in New Zealand,  including Purex toilet tissue, Sorbent toilet and facial tissue and Handee towel.

Asaleo Care has also retained its consumer tissue business in Fiji and Pacific Islands, which distributes the Orchid and Viti brands for toilet, towel and facial tissue, and serviettes.
