Careerforce to host training seminar at CleanNZ

Sessions to provide practical demonstrations on approved carpet cleaning methods and stain removal.

The need for a science-based approach towards carpet cleaning will be among the topics on the agenda at the upcoming CleanNZ Expo at the Ellerslie Events Centre on Tuesday, 25 October and Wednesday, 26 October.

Hosted by the Building Service Contractors Association of New Zealand (BSCNZ), CleanNZ Expo is the largest dedicated trade event for New Zealand’s commercial cleaning industry.

The event is shaping up to be bigger than ever, with more 30 exhibitors and two days of professional development sessions for those in procurement of commercial cleaning, property professionals, contractors, and suppliers.

The event’s free-to-attend education program will include sessions on health and safety, industry best practice, pest control, and indoor air quality.

Carpet cleaning will also be in the spotlight, with an interactive session to be jointly hosted by Penny Barrett, business development consultant, Careerforce; and Sean Johnson, director of Restore Clean & Restoration.

The carpet cleaning session, to be held on the first day of the expo, is based on the recently revised Certificate in Cleaning (Level 3) and will provide attendees with practical demonstrations on approved carpet cleaning methods and stain removal.

The presentation will also deal with important aspects of the ANSI/IICRC S100 and AS/NZS 3733:2018 carpet cleaning standards.

“The session will showcase the Level 3 Cleaning Program as well as provide attendees with practical carpet cleaning demonstrations from the programme,” said Barrett.

As part of the session’s interactivity, attendees will be informed on carpet construction, maintenance, encapsulation, and stain removal.

“Carpet cleaning is largely outsourced in the cleaning sector therefore we thought it would be really useful for cleaning companies and their staff to be given first-hand knowledge on how to identify carpet types and correct cleaning methods.”

Johnson, who also represents the Carpet Cleaners Association of New Zealand, said the session is also opportunity for cleaning companies to help upskill their staff.

McBride said the aim of CleanNZ Expo’s education sessions is to educate, update, and inspire attendees.

“As the industry association for New Zealand’s building service contractors, we endorse excellence and promote the vital role the commercial cleaning industry provides in delivering clean & healthy environments for our varied clients throughout the country

“In partnership with Careerforce, we have organised a fantastic line up of complimentary educational seminars.  Organise your team and come join the sessions covering the latest in cleaning, carpet cleaning, pest control, and health and safety.”

The BSCNZ will also host an exclusive industry conference in conjunction with CleanNZ Expo, with keynote speakers to include Sir Richard Hadlee and Sir Ian Taylor.

The BSCNZ Evolve Industry Conference will run alongside the highly anticipated CleanNZ Expo on Tuesday 25 October and Wednesday 26 October.
