RIA announces keynote speakers

RIA announces program for upcoming Australasian Restoration Conference and Trade Show.

The Restoration Industry Association (RIA) has announced the education program for the fourth annual Australasian Restoration Conference and Trade Show.

The RIA Australasian Restoration Industry Conference will be held at Melbourne’s Pullman on the Park on Wednesday, 31 May until Friday, 2 June.

The two-day event will include educational sessions, vendor demonstrations, and networking events.

The event will also host additional training sessions including an Environmental Day, in conjunction with the Indoor Air Quality Association of Australia (IAQAA) on Wednesday, 31 May.

The conference will conclude with the annual RIA Gala Dinner on Friday, 2 June.

“We are very excited to bring the restoration industry together once again,” said Owen Boak, Owen Boak, RIA Inc. president.

“Since our last conference, we have evolved as an association, and we are looking forward to sharing our latest initiatives and developments with the industry.”

Keynote speakers of the event include Paul McCarthy, communications strategist and customer-centred branding expert; Chad Vigar, head of property claims at QBE Insurance; and Tim Law, architectural scientist, and practice lead for building sciences at Restoration Industry Consultants.

“This year’s speakers will provide attendees with valuable insights and knowledge in the field of property restoration, which is rapidly evolving due to technological advancements and changing consumer preferences,” said Boak.

McCarthy’s keynote session will discuss how to build a customer-centric culture within teams and business, as well as examine what businesses need to do to nurture key stakeholders and deliver positive experiences that will drive business success.

QBE’s Vigar will review the property claims process, as well as share insights on how to achieve best claims outcomes for clients by working collectively with the restoration industry.

Law will discuss findings from the recently released landmark report on indoor mould and moisture damage in residential buildings in Victoria, and why restorers need to understand it.

RIA Inc. Restoration Awards introduces new awards 

In addition to the ceremony’s annual RIA Inc. Australasian Lifetime Achievement Award, which recognises an individual’s service and dedication to the restoration industry, RIA has launched two award categories RIA Inc. Residential Restoration Project of the Year Award and  RIA Inc. Commercial Restoration Project of the Year Award.

The RIA Inc. Restoration Awards recognise restoration businesses who have demonstrated outstanding customer service, excellence, and professionalism through a restoration project.
